Some quick addition for you...August + Indonesia = Insane Waves. Throw in a fisheye camera and you get the resulting pictures. My man Evan Jensen connected with a few Californian buddies and a few Brazilians for 12 nights aboard the Freedom III 72' Catamaran in Mentawai Islands, West Sumatra Indonesia from Aug 8-21st, 2009. Evan, surfer extraordinaire, takes it from here... "Surfed a number of excellent reef breaks throughout the Mentawai island chain, including Macaronis, Lance's Left, Lance's Right, Burgerworld, Roxy's and Thunders. There were zero flat days. For a 28yr old, I have a decent amount of international travel under my belt, but, these were without question, the most superb waves I've witnessed in the flesh. It was incredible."
