Wakeboarding's cream of the crop recently congregated at Lake Powell for Liquid Force's 2009 BROstock. Known as one of the better contests around, BROstock seemlessly mixes work with play and often blurs the line between the two. The Contest
While the Liquid Force DJ kept the beats bumping, round 1 of the annual contest began with 24 riders taking turns on the LF BROstock Supra 24' boat. This narrowed the field down to 16 and changed the format to head-to-head riding for round 2. This round knocked half the field out and eventually the final four consisted of Chris O'Shea, Bob Soven, Danny Harf and James Balzer.
Balzer, a last minute fill-in, wowed the crowd with his wakeskating prowess and enjoyed playing the contest spoiler. 17 year-old phenom Bob Soven threw 900s like it was the last time he'd ever ride. But in the end it was Danny Harf who dropped a wrapped nose-grab backside 720 en route to a first place finish and a cool $12,500 paycheck.
